The vapor-deposited multilayer coating ensures that both the front and back sides of the filter are coated, preventing loss of contrast and brilliance while avoiding ghosting and double images. The ultra-thin wide-mount design prevents vignetting and can remain permanently on the lens, extending the lens mount hardly at all. A protected front lens saves on expensive repair costs. The filter is made of optical glass, with a black anodized metal filter mount and blackened inner edges to prevent reflections. Edge sealing protects against dirt, and the frame retains its shape despite temperature fluctuations.
