Steffen Time switch
For souls struggling with Manual modes.
Short instruction to just make your timers work:
If you have fully set up your device to your liking and according to your set timer(s) the power should be already on - choose “On + Auto”. Otherwise - “Off + Auto”. This way the device will simply follow your chosen settings.
_______________
Long explanation for people with time and strive for knowledge:
Meaning of 4 Manual settings:
- “On” means that the power is always on and it will ignore your set timers/schedules
- “Off” means that the power always off and it will ignore your set timers/schedules
- “On + Auto” means that the power is currently on, even if it should be off according to your set timers. Later, the power will turn off automatically whenever the next “off” event is set in your schedule. After that the device will continue following the schedule without your involvement.
- “Off + Auto” is similar to above. The power is currently off, even if your set timers say otherwise, but it will turn on when your timers say so and proceed to following your set schedule.
For example, I have a timer set for the lamp to be turned on every day from 22:00 to 23:00.
- If the current time is 21:30 but I need my lamp to be on already, I will set the Manual setting to “On + Auto”. This way the lamp will be on till 23:00 and then it will automatically turn off and proceed following the set schedule
- If the current time is only 22:30 but I am done with reading and need my lamp to be off, I will set the Manual setting to “Off + Auto”. This way the lamp will be off till 22:00 of the next day and then it will automatically turn on and proceed following the set schedule
I hope it can help someone not to get as frustrated as me during the first set up 🫠

Great explanation, thank you very much!
😂😂😊 Thank you
DANKE!!!
Thank you! You're the real MVP! I would have never been able to work this product out without your explanation.
Thank you very much for the enlightenment!
Top!
A big thanks man - Steffen should hire you to write their instructions :)
Thank you, I thought I wouldn't get it right with the timer.
Judging by the comments, I guess I wasn't the only one.
Well, I’ve got one of these clocks too, and they actually work perfectly… until they break!
Basically, the description here is correct.
What I can’t quite understand is the statement “…It would be great if there were also an ‘Auto’ mode that would simply follow the schedule...’ under ‘Cons. It does have one! Just set it to ‘Auto’ and the timer automatically switches all programmes on and off at the set times. That’s what it’s there for...!
I’ve programmed four times a day for the pool pump – so it switches on and off four times a day, from Monday to Sunday – and the pump reliably switches on and off again after the set time!
But perhaps the translation (apparently) from English isn’t quite correct either?!
