The Italian actor Carlo Pedersoli, who became famous as Bud Spencer, has entertained millions of people from different generations with his films. Now the last clapperboard has dropped and we say goodbye to our childhood hero.
Carlo Pedersoli had an eventful life. He took part in the Olympic Games twice as a swimmer, went to South America and helped build the Panamericana motorway, returned to Italy and studied law. At times he was an inventor and musician. With his wife, with whom he was together for more than 50 years, he raised three children. As if that wasn't enough for one life, he became an international film star with a stage name.
His films have cult status. Despite his impressive success, the Italian remained likeably modest. In his final years, he wrote books and recorded a CD. Carlo Pedersoli really lived his life. Now the Italian has died at the age of 86.
