These shorts could spare you a miniskirt mishap

Short skirts are stylish, but they’re often impractical. Luckily, there’s a simple solution. Here’s my secret weapon against unwanted glances up your skirt.
I love miniskirts, but I hate feeling as if I’m moving like a mannequin in a shop window. Sitting down? Gotta press those knees together. Going upstairs? Better master that sidestep and hold down that hem. Picking something up from the floor? Forget it.
The solution? Wear shorts underneath!
With this in mind, I mostly wear miniskirts with built-in shorts – or simply add a pair myself. Finding the perfect ones, however, was no easy feat. Biker shorts are usually too long for miniskirts. Panties, on the other hand, are often cut high, making them incompatible with mid- and low-waist skirts. In the end, I struck gold with Sloggi.

The Go Daily Cotton shorts are the ideal length for me. Though skimpy enough to be pretty much invisible under even very short skirts, they’re long enough to cover your buttocks. They’re also low cut, so they don’t peek out if you’re wearing something with a low waist.

Since the Go Daily Cotton shorts are briefs, the crotch is reinforced. That means you can wear them as underpants or over your regular underwear. The fabric’s made from 95 per cent GOTS-certified organic cotton and five per cent elastane.
Buy them in a bigger size
Bear in mind that since the shorts sit pretty low, the narrow, elastic waistband could dig in at the exact area you might have a little extra skin around your hips. If you ask me, I’d say they’re pretty tightly cut too. To make sure they cover you enough without digging in unforgivingly, I’d recommend you order them in the next size up – especially if you’re blessed with a decent booty.
In a nutshell
A must-have for miniskirt lovers
Pro
- They make miniskirts suitable for everyday life
- Comfy, organic cotton fabric
- Fair price
Contra
- Low elastic waistband might dig in – it’s better to order a bigger size
