Bright colors are not your cup of tea? No problem, fashion doesn't always have to be colorful. On the contrary. Black clothes have often helped me out of a jam. When I don't know what to wear in the morning, I slip into a black knitted sweater, jeans of the same color and boots. In the home office, I pull the whole thing off: My colleagues know me remotely only in a black sweater, of which I own three identical copies.
According to Pinterest, I'm not alone with this penchant: users are increasingly looking for black pieces. Leather pants, rough platform boots and matrix sunglasses are very popular among users. Coats can also be made of patent leather or leather. If that's too "gothic" for you, just go for a monochrome outfit with matching accessories. My tip: By combining different materials such as leather, denim or silk, a monochrome outfit is anything but boring.

For fashion inspiration, I prefer to scroll through social networks like Instagram and Pinterest. What I particularly like about the latter is that I can save my favorite looks in various folders or pin them to pinboards. That way, I always have my individual mood boards at hand. It's a concept that works. Around 450 million users worldwide use the online pinboard. Based on the search behavior of its users, Pinterest publishes the annual trend report "Pinterest Predicts. This is not a snapshot, but a forward-looking look at the coming trends. And because Pinterest's hit rate in the past has been 80 percent, you can (almost) never go wrong wearing these it-pieces.
To get a kick out of your look this year, user:ins are going for bright orange, red, yellow or cobalt blue. The good mood colors ensure that we (or rather our organism) release the happiness hormone dopamine at the sight of them. When you wear such bright colors for the first time, you don't have to rush into a complete bang outfit. In the beginning, you can just wear a colorful accessory or a shirt that peeks out from under a blazer. Feel your way gently to this trend and dare later to a sweater or a jacket. For the complete look, consisting of pants and top, you still have 51 weeks until the end of the year.

If you prefer prints instead of color extremes, this trend might be your cup of tea. While plaid prints are an ongoing trend, 2022 celebrates big checkerboard checks that are anything but petty. According to Pinterest, requests are up 160 percent year-over-year. Their advantage: like "small checks," they are not only modern, but also timeless. If you don't already own checkerboard prints, you might like a patterned blazer or coat. Skirts or pants are also suitable for beginners:inside. The more muted the color, the more understated and timeless the piece. If you want to go all out when it comes to plaid, I recommend going all out for a change and combining several different checkerboard patterns with each other. Turn night into day with this fashion trend ... or so. Because sweatpants have dominated our days for the past few months, I've been acquiring silk nightwear. Why? To sweeten the night for me and to allow myself at least in sleep a little luxury. The material not only feels pleasant on the skin, but also regulates the body temperature. A true blessing that not only I, but also many Pinterest user:in no longer want to miss. If you also want to go for silk during the day, combine a silk top with a coarse cardigan, for example. But you can also wear your pajamas to work or in your free time.

In past years, I gave a wide berth to anything that glitters. I thought it was tacky and anything but stylish. Pinterest and the like have changed my mind. Influencers pose in sparkly skirts and attract many a thieving magpie with their glittering evening bags - including me. Now I'm craving rhinestone-studded earrings and shoes. Since I've unfortunately given away my glittery fumbles and accessories, I'm splurging on shimmery makeup until I find what I'm looking for. I rely on eye shadow, nail polish and eyeliner.

In times like these, we like to reflect on the tried and true and beautiful (childhood) memories. I can still remember grandma's jewelry box very well. Every time I visited, I would hang myself with her pearl necklaces and strut around the apartment. I wonder if I'm now ogling them again out of nostalgia. Speaking of jewelry: Are you one of the lucky ones who received a high-quality wristwatch as a gift for confirmation, confirmation or whatever event? Congratulations. I thought watches were dumb back then and spoke out against them before my "conf". Too bad. In retrospect, I regret that decision because a nice watch adds the finishing touch to an outfit. While it used to be worn just to tell time, nowadays it acts as a timeless piece of jewelry. One that makes any look look more high-end. Instead of too many inexpensive pieces, I advise you to go for a high-quality and at the same time timeless model in the course of the whole sustainability discussions. You can set the scene with different bracelets at will and according to your mood of the day, thus ensuring variety on your wrist.
