Textiles that make your bathroom cosier
Are you neglecting your bathroom when it comes to cosiness? That's over now. Fabrics give you the "instant comfort effect" - just like in the bedroom or living room.
When I visit friends, I realise that the bathroom is one of the rooms they love the least. Not because they tell me so, but because I see it in the way they have furnished it: Just the bare essentials and therefore very sparse. I've already told you what you can get out of the space in the article "Step by step to a pretty bathroom". I left out one essential element: fabrics are the be-all and end-all if you want to bring cosiness into a room. I'll show you my favourites that achieve this in my eyes here.
"Jungled" from ZigZagZurich

I know you probably already own a shower curtain, but is it made from a high-quality cotton fabric? There are now acrylic-coated variants such as "Hot Chicks", which are made from 100% Panama cotton, can be washed and are wrinkle-free after a hot shower, even without ironing. They stick less to the edge of the bathtub. Another special feature of this model is that it is adorned with an animal print, which was created in collaboration with artist Sophie Probst.
I recently visited the Zurich creative minds, who take home textiles to a whole new level, from ZigZagZurich. Each of their curtains is handmade in Italy and finished with stainless steel eyelets.

"Rimini" from Frottee di Mare

If you already own a towelling bath rug, you can come back to me. But if you don't have one, it's high time you changed that. Not just because wet feet can be dangerous on a tiled floor, but because it's so much more pleasant - and much nicer - underfoot. With models such as "Rimini", which have a different pattern on both sides, you can create an eye-catching feature that works like a painting on the wall. And not by chance: the cotton rug is adorned with an abstract painting by Swiss artist Nina Hebting.
Together with architect Jan Leu, she creates the illustrations for the colourful rugs from Frottee di Mare. From beach towels to guest towels, the duo have dedicated themselves to producing perfectly woven terry cloth. You can find an interview with the pair here.
"Boho" from Nordal

Why not actually? Metre-long curtains may not be the best choice in the often wet bathroom, but short bamboo blinds like the "Boho" model are. They are easy to install and can fulfil your longing for boho-chic living style in the bathroom too. Admittedly, bamboo is not comparable to cotton fabric, but it is just as natural.
The Danish brand Nordal prefers to incorporate natural fibres into its modern designs. This gives them a cosy feel that wet rooms in particular can use at home.
"Puls" from Kollektiv Vier

This beach towel-sized model also has its finger on the pulse when it comes to towelling. It is designed in Switzerland and manufactured by an Austrian family business with a twist: The front and back look different. One side is darker than the other.
Kollektiv Vier from Switzerland dedicates its home textiles to bathrooms in particular and mixes them up with colourful illustrations on shower curtains and the like. You can find out more about the four designers from Switzerland here.
"Herman" from Ferm Living

There are many fish in the laundry basket sea, but you have to know "Herman". It satisfies your vintage look needs and your love of nature with its canvas fabric. It can be closed and hides your dirty laundry in an instant.
It is part of a whole collection from Ferm Living that revolves around the bathroom and impresses with its simple shape that suits many interior styles.
"Spear" from Ferm Living

"Spear" from Ferm Living is a little more eye-catching in terms of pattern, but is no less beautiful to look at. In addition, splashes of colour here and there are a must because they highlight the textiles. In the case of this basket, it is organic cotton with fleece fixation on the inside, which is something to be proud of.
