Playmobil has added the iconic Mini Cooper to its range of cars. The small speedster from Great Britain comes with three figures, a dog and a handful of accessories.

The Beatles drove one, Austin Powers raced in one and Mr. Bean likes driving on the roof of one. This car is famous all over the world. It’s a miniature miracle. A style icon. A cult car. The Mini Cooper.

Now Playmobil has launched an even smaller version of this little vehicle. As befits a British car, the steering wheel is on the right-hand side. The boot can be opened to stow suitcases and newspapers. The roof is removable, so that the figures can sit inside. The Dalmatian finds a place on the back seat.

The policeman in typical English uniform is equipped with rubber baton and whistle. The other two figures from the set stand out even more, as they add a splash of colour to the set. Welcome to the 70s!

Designed for adults

Playmobil has been targeting adults for the past two years. Especially with vehicles. The DeLorean from «Back to the Future» and the Volkswagen classics have already been launched. Last autumn, the iconic Aston Martin DB5 from James Bond and the van from the cult series «The A-Team» were also added.

The Mini Cooper is in no way inferior to its predecessors. As usually, the Playmobil creators pay a lot of attention to details and have designed and built a solid car. Playmobil manages to combine two worlds with its vehicles: they’re both exhibition pieces for adults and toy cars for children. A promising combination.
