Espresso in the morning, a flat white in the afternoon, or an iced coffee in between? Aromis fully automatic coffee machines offer numerous coffee specialties and are so slim that they fit even in small kitchens. We have them new in our shop.

Aromis is the name of the new fully automatic coffee machine series from Philips. Their models use the same grinding and brewing technology as well as the same milk system. Differences lie in the beverage selection and operation. I will first introduce you to the Aromis 6000 and then show you what the 8000 series offers in addition.

Grinder and brewing technology

The Aromis 6000 works with a ceramic grinder that offers twelve grind settings. The bean container holds 275 grams, and the water tank holds 1.9 liters. The "Bean Adjust" function is designed to automatically adjust the brewing parameters to the type of beans used. With "BrewExtract", the machine doses and tamps the ground coffee. According to Philips, this technology gets more out of the beans and ensures a more intense flavor. The pump pressure is 15 bar.

25 beverages and eight profiles

There are 25 pre-programmed hot and cold beverages to choose from. In addition to espresso, ristretto, doppio, and americano, these include café crème, cappuccino, flat white, caffè latte, and latte macchiato, as well as iced coffee and hot water. You can determine how strong your coffee is via seven intensity levels. Up to eight people can save their settings in their own profiles. The machine is operated via a display with icons for the individual beverages. A two-cup function is integrated, and the coffee spout is height-adjustable.

Milk foam without tubes

The machine produces milk foam with the "LatteGo Pro" system. It consists of two parts and creates the foam directly in the milk carafe on the front of the machine. There is no need for tubes that you would have to clean separately.

Quiet and ready to go quickly

To ensure that the grinding process does not wake up the whole household early in the morning, Philips uses "SilentBrew" technology. This sound insulation is intended to make the machine up to 40 percent quieter than previous Philips fully automatic machines. In addition, it is said to be ready for use after just three seconds.

Measuring 25.1 × 38.9 × 45.2 centimeters (W × H × D), it also fits on narrower work surfaces. It weighs 9.3 kilograms, and the drip tray is removable.

What the Aromis 8000 offers you in addition

Would you like to prepare cold brew or start your coffee from the sofa? The Aromis 8000 makes both possible. The grinder, brewing technology, and the sizes of the water and bean containers are the same as those of the 6000 series. There are differences in four areas.

  • Larger beverage selection: A cold water system prepares an interpretation of cold brew. Flash brew, coldpresso, iced cappuccino, iced latte macchiato, or red eye are based on this. The "simple" cold brew is said to be ready in just five minutes.
  • Milk system: The scope of delivery includes two carafes. While "LatteGo Pro Hot" prepares warm milk foam, "LatteGo Pro Cold" froths the milk cold.
  • Operation: The Aromis 8000 has a 4.3-inch color touchscreen. You can set the brewing temperature in three levels and increase the strength for selected beverages with the extra-shot function.
  • Connectivity: You can connect the 8000 series to the "HomeID" app via Wi-Fi. You can use it to start a coffee remotely or schedule when it should be ready via a timer. The machine can also be paired with Amazon Alexa. The "Barista Assistant" remembers your preferences and recognizes which beans you are using via the app. With the 6000 series, the app only provides instructions.
