Outdoorchef Ascona 570 G Evo: The gas ball gets an update
The Outdoorchef Ascona 570 G Evo remains true to the familiar gas ball principle. The main new features are the stainless steel burners, an adapted base frame, a modified lid and preparation for the Easy-Check thermometer.
A gas barbecue is useful if you often cook outside but don't want to light coals, spread embers and spend a long time cleaning every time. The Outdoorchef Ascona 570 G Evo is aimed precisely at this use.
The new Evo model is an update of the previous Ascona generation. The concept remains the same. Outdoorchef has changed the details of the material, construction and operation. It is available now.

The grill employs two separately adjustable ring burners with a total output of 9.70 kW. Outdoorchef specifies a temperature range of 100 to 500 degrees Celsius. The grilling surface measures 54 centimetres in diameter. The grid is made of stainless steel.
The funnel system remains central
The funnel system sits between the burner and grill grate. In the indirect position, the funnel distributes the heat over the entire grilling surface. Fat does not drip directly into the flame. This is intended to reduce grease fires. In the direct position, the funnel concentrates the heat more strongly and enables high temperatures for searing.
The two ring burners can be regulated independently. This creates different temperature ranges. However, they are not as clearly demarcated as with classic multi-burner gas grills.
The bowl is porcelain enamelled and retains heat evenly. There is a thermometer in the lid for a rough guide to the cooking cabinet temperature. An additional measuring device is useful for precise cooking.
What changes in everyday life
Compared to its predecessor, both ring burners are now made of stainless steel. Previously, one of them was enamelled (steel). This does not change the performance or functional principle. However, it does affect maintenance and durability.
The lid is guided by a 135-degree hinge. Outdoorchef describes it as smooth-running and made of die-cast aluminium.
Equipment without overloading
The mobile base frame is equipped with two large wheels. Outdoorchef describes it as stable, but does not mention any specific design changes compared to previous Ascona models. The funnel and grease drip tray can be completely removed.
A holder for gas cylinders weighing five or eight kilograms is located under the ball. A side shelf and cutlery hooks are part of the standard equipment. The storage table also has an indentation for the Outdoorchef Easy Check thermometer. The thermometer is not included in the scope of delivery and must be purchased separately.
