Our trainer picks for Autumn
The trainer styles currently rocking our boat are fairly eclectic. We’re obsessed with everything from chunky 90s trainers to millennial pink ones. Even though loafers and biker boots look great in autumn, trainers are still bang on trend and hard to resist. Find out which styles are popular right now on blogs, Instagram and on the streets and you’ll be one step ahead before they make appear at 2018 fashion shows. With the variety of trainers we found, there’s bound to be something for everyone.
Sporty return to the 90s
Chunky trainers along with tracksuits and tattoo chokers from the 90s are seeing a resurgence. The fashion world is embracing «bigger is better» with bulky, athletic design. Trainers are being combined with high socks and rolled up jeans like nobody’s business.
Thanks to fashion brands such as Balenciaga and Raf Simons, sporty look back is back in the spotlight with models like the Raf Simons’ Ozweego and Triple S Trainer. Or maybe it was all down to good marketing.
What we love about this 90s trend and the minimalist design is we manage to look fashionable and really sporty with very little effort. It’s clear that this style is here to stay well into summer 2018. From street style to fashion shows and catwalks, trainers are making their mark everywhere. The more often you see them, the more you want a pair of your own.
Get your Yeezy glam on

Tradition meets modern design with these trainers. You can’t beat sports shoes and knitwear at this time of year when all you want to do is reach for a cosy woolen jumper. The famous Yeezy Boost line was the result of a collaboration between the Adidas brand and the rapper Kanye West. It is in a large part thanks to this collaboration that knitwear has become so popular amongst fans of trainers.
We think it’s great that other trainers have been designed in the same chic look. We can’t wait to combine them with our favourite knitted jumpers.
Millennial pink
Over the last few years, millennial fashion brands have been appearing and lingering like stubborn acne. Meanwhile, home design heavyweights such as Bloomingville have been submerging our wardrobes and home furnishings in the official 2016 Pantone colour Rose Quartz. The worlds of architecture, graphics and art also value this shade of the moment.
All creative disciplines seem to be trying to redefine the colour and steer it away from stereotypical clichés, a move which we’re right behind. Classic trainers such as the old school vintage Vans also get a touch of pink. They make winter that bit brighter and keep your look fresh.
Can you ever have too much bling?

There is the risk that this season’s trainers will steal your jewellery’s thunder. The current trend is for trainers that have been either coated in gold or silver from top to toe or feature shiny metallic details. We love the entire range and like to stand out for our style even in autumn and winter. That’s why we were so taken with these shimmering models. We think they’d look best paired with cords, which incidentally are also enjoying a revival.
Put the future on hold
With these shade-on-shade trainers, we’re already amongst this season’s trendsetters. The monochrome colour scheme highlights the shapes and details on the shoes. This makes them look like they’re exhibits in a shoe cabinet, making them especially popular with trainers connoisseurs who appreciate abstract design. What we really like about these single-coloured shoes is how elegant they are and how easy it is to pair them with different outfits.
Like a snug pair of socks

This autumn we’re going to be enjoying the cosiness of socks thanks to the latest highlight of footwear fashion. Sock trainers are the ambitious answer to an increasing demand for comfort in our daily lives. We’re all for trainers that offer the same comfort we have at home when we’re out and about. These have been staples for fashion influencers like Gigi Hadid for a long time now.
Because the stretchy shoes don’t have any laces to tie up, you can just slip them on and go. They’re best paired with an oversized coat and cropped trousers.
Velvety soft
If you think clothing can be soft, these autumn-winter trainers are positively velvety. The soft material is unique, as it looks and glimmers slightly differently depending on the lighting. Velour never ceases to impress us, as it can transform otherwise sporty-looking trainers into elegant winter shoes in the blink of an eye. On top of that, the shower-proof material keeps your feet dry in the cold season. That’s a must-have if ever there was one.
