How to prepare your favourite trainers for autumn
It's instinctive: we protect what we love. If you like trainers, or if you're a "Sneakerhead" (an unconditional fan), each new pair must be protected. By adopting the right techniques, you can avoid stains with ease.
"Use protection": impregnate them

- Hydro-repellent and oil-repellent
- Inodorous and transparent
- Does not change the appearance of trainers
- Natural and water-based
- Protects smooth leather, suede, nubuck, nylon and canvas
- Effective for approximately 4 to 6 weeks
"Repel" spray forms a durable barrier that lets air through. It prevents liquids from penetrating the material. This video (in English) shows you the final result. As well as the sumptuous staging with which Jason Markk presents his products, his videos show you how to use them correctly.
Clean trainers before application. Spray the product from a distance of about 15 to 20 cm as evenly as possible over the entire surface. Remove any residue with a cloth. Wait for the first coat to dry before applying a second coat.
To find out if it's time to repeat the treatment, pour a few drops of water onto your trainers. If they penetrate the material instead of gliding over the surface, clean your trainers and impregnate them again.
"Stay fresh": clean them

Jason Markk's Premium Shoe Cleaning Kit will make your trainers look like new again. This kit contains no chemicals. You'll be able to make up to 100 applications using a brush. This video (in English) shows you how it works. If you're in a hurry, use the included cleaning wipes with one of the bumpy surfaces to fine-tune your cleaning.
I recommend leaving your trainers to dry overnight after treatment. If you run in the rain immediately after application, a layer of foam can form on the surface of your trainers and cause awkward situations. "What is it? Why are your feet covered in foam?" are the questions a friend was confronted with. Oops. ;)
Use the Suede Cleaning Kit on rough leather, as dry cleaning is all you need, as this video shows you. After cleaning, brush the suede back to give it a nice effect. Polish smooth areas with a wax- or oil-based cream.
Timson's antibacterial shoe dryers will keep your trainers hygienic for the long term. They dry them without damaging them and eliminate odours in 4 to 6 hours. Antibacterial shoe deodorisers, meanwhile, quickly neutralise odours.

The story of Jason Markk, a trusted brand
Jason Markk understands that 'Sneakerheads' are often big collectors. In 2014, the company opened its first Sneaker-Drop-Off-Shop, dedicated to trainer cleaning and repair. The natural care products produced in Los Angeles stand out from their precursors, as conventional products are not sufficient for long-term care. The "trainer workshop" has become a real local exchange place where the greatest "Sneakerheads" meet and celebrate their trainers during various events.
I congratulate the brand on its contribution to sustainable development. The "Sneakerheads" culture brings us valuable products that help us keep our shoes for as long as possible. Some of our favourite pairs are simply irreplaceable.
Like a cheerleader, I love celebrating good design and bringing you closer to everything furniture- and interior design- related. I regularly curate simple yet sophisticated interior ideas, report on trends and interview creative minds about their work.
