Not just good, but the best baby car seat!
The Privia model in combination with the "fix Basis" from Recaro is the winner of the Stiftung Warentest test (issue 6/2014, group 0/0+). The score of 1.3 ("very good") is the best result ever awarded by the product testers for a child car seat.
The infant car seat for newborns falls into ECE class 0+ and is installed facing in the opposite direction of travel. It must be placed in the rear seat with the front passenger airbag activated. As the sensitive baby's neck is optimally protected in the shells, they should be used until the child's head reaches the upper edge of the seat shell or the child weighs 13kg.
This is how the child car seat is rated by the ADAC:
"Lightweight infant car seat with very good test results. Once installed, the Isofix base can remain in the vehicle and simplifies the installation of the infant car seat. The multi-stage size adjustment of the harness straps, without having to unthread the straps, is an advantage. The test judgement refers to anchoring with ISOFIX, please check the child seat manufacturer's type list to see whether your vehicle is approved for this type of installation. If installed with the vehicle seat belt, the rating drops by one grade level."
