New at Galaxus: phone consultations for drug store products

Galaxus is taking another step towards becoming an online pharmacy. The online department store has recently started selling cosmetic products that were previously only available in drug stores. These include dermocosmetics from the brands La Roche Posay and Eucerin. In addition, customers can now consult a pharmacist over the phone.
Galaxus is expanding its drug store range to include dermocosmetics. These include products from renowned brands such as Vichy, La Roche Posay, Eucerin and CeraVe – products meant to combat very dry skin or skin ageing, for example.

Unlike creams, body lotions or shower gels, which are available in every supermarket, dermocosmetics are subject to the specifications of the pharmaceutical industry. Medical professionals are involved in their manufacturing, and clinical tests are a must.
«Dermocosmetics aren’t the only thing that’s new to our shop. Customers can now enjoy a consultation with an expert over the phone,» explains Jvonne Scherrer, who hopes to see Galaxus join the ranks of online pharmacies. «Our pharmacist offers consultations not only in German, but also in French,» she adds.
With this, Galaxus is offering customers a pharmacy-like shopping experience – without having to visit a brick-and-mortar shop.

«Offering a specialist consultation isn’t a legal requirement for selling dermocosmetics, but we think the offer is beneficial to our customers,» says Jvonne, who’s responsible for the health and beauty range at Galaxus. «The next step is to expand our dietary supplement range.»
