My favourite makeup brush costs less than 5 francs
Essence’s brushes are affordable and reliable. I’ve been using one for over a year, and there are no signs of any wear. It may not look it, but this particular brush is a hidden gem you need to know about.
We don’t talk about brushes often enough. Application tools are the foundation of a good makeup look, yet they’re usually overlooked. It’s obvious why. Lipsticks, eyeshadows, and other makeup products are all about fun and self-expression. Brushes, on the other hand, have a dated image, which is why they often end up forgotten about when it comes to makeup. That’s why it’s time to shine a spotlight on one of my favourite budget-friendly tools: the Essence concealer brush.

For every nook and cranny
The skin around my eyes is creased, uneven, and difficult to care for. That’s exactly where 01 Bye Bye Under Eye comes in. Using the narrow brush, I can effortlessly apply my concealer to this tricky area. How so? Because of the slanted head design and the tightly bound, ultra-fine bristles. This combination allows me to reach even the most awkward spots with my concealer and blend it in at the same time without losing any coverage.
Personally, I prefer using this brush for making the inner corners of my eyes look more open. To do this, I lighten the areas to the left and right of the bridge of my nose.

I’m also a fan of the handle. It has a velvety texture and tapers toward the back, keeping the weight concentrated in the front of the brush. This feels particularly nice when applying makeup. And then there are the «waves» that wind around the handle. Thanks to them, the brush sits securely between your fingers. It’s similar to an ergonomically shaped pencil.
The brush is made from 100% recycled materials, is vegan, and hasn’t been tested on animals.

In a nutshell
A reliable companion for those on a tight budget
Pro
- Affordable
- Ergonomic handle
- Soft bristles

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
