Meringue to wear: Copenhagen sinks into egg whites
During Fashion Week, food is usually of secondary importance. In Copenhagen, however, various visitors whetted their appetite for pavlova and meringue.
No one dresses as beautifully as the Danes (if you ask me). So when Fashion Week takes place on the streets of Copenhagen, as it did from 4 to 8 August, I pull out my pen and scribble down a cheat sheet: What to wear? How will it be styled? What will I combine with it? How can I bring the Scandi look home?
This season, alongside XL hair accessories and layering dresses over trousers, one trend in particular stood out from the fashion crowd: tops, dresses and trousers that make their wearers look like walking meringues. The sweet meringue made from sugared egg whites, better known as meringue in Germany, is reminiscent of fluffy clouds. Translated into textiles, this means draped white fabric with balloon sleeves, a peplum and a fluffy hem.

The Danes agree that it doesn't take much. An open shoe that shows some skin to balance out the puffy volume, a bag that either sinks into the foamy white or offers an earthy contrast. And there you have it - perhaps the most delicious look of the moment.
