Matching plants and pots

Flower pots underline the character of your houseplants and add an important finishing touch to your interior. It’s all about finding the right one.

For an interior design enthusiast like me, the appearance of a flowerpot is just as important as that of a piece of furniture. Sometimes, however, my distinct sense of aesthetics gets me in trouble, as I described in my last article. It's almost like the chicken or the egg dilemma: I can't buy a new houseplant until I've decided on a pot. Partly because I find it more difficult to find the right pot after I've purchased a plant.

Raised

How trendy and appreciated plants have become becomes evident when you look at these pots: they put plants on a pedestal and turn them into a real eye-catcher. These pots on legs also give your green roommates a figurative character and turn them into abstract sculptures.

Minimalist

Straight lines and corners are particularly popular with fans of a Scandinavian style of living. Compared to terracotta pots, minimalist shapes and colours such as grey or black are neutral. They suit any room and make sure all eyes are on the plant itself.

Tactile

Flower pots that resemble antique clay pots are also becoming more and more trendy. Often made by hand, they have an irregular surface and an uneven silhouette that makes them look tactile. This goes well with wild and natural plants.

Hanging

Hanging pots aren't only everyone's favourite because they save space on the floor, but also because they offer more variety than other pots. Some can be put on the wall or ceiling. The beautiful thing about hanging pots is that they swing from side to side in the wind like a mobile.
