Laura's Likes: The Met Gala sparkled like never before
The biggest fashion event of the year took place in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on 1 May. And there was one thing in particular to see besides cats: Pearls.
Just like the Justin Timberlake meme "It's gonna be May", the Met Gala is a successful start to the month of May. This year's topic was "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty". The dress code was therefore quite predictable: lots of black and white, lots of shirt collars, bows and ties, lots of Chanel, Fendi and Chloé. The giant white cat that scampered across the white carpet also came as no surprise to anyone, as Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette was almost as famous as the designer himself. Incidentally, the cat costume featured actor/singer Jared Leto, who later changed into a 2009 archive look from Karl Lagerfeld's own brand.
In addition to the larger-than-life chick, one thing in particular stood out on the red white carpet: Pearls. Whether Lizzo, Kim Kardashian, Salma Hayek, Gigi Hadid or Alia Bhatt, they all adorned themselves and/or their looks with pearl necklaces, embroidery or appliqués.

Good for us, we can easily bring the Met Karl feeling home and integrate it into our everyday lives on a small scale. As a mobile phone bag, for example, jeans or a choker.
