Laura's Likes: Realtree makes camouflage cool again
Is it a tree? Is it a bush? In any case, it's a trend. Realtree camouflage is making camouflage cool again - and the street a hunting ground.
It will hardly surprise you to read that this trend is also a reissue from the 1990s and early 2000s. Without the camouflage pattern, little would have worked back then, especially in the music industry. From Nas to Aaliyah, from the Wu-Tang Clan to Destiny's Child: wide cargo trousers, large jackets, skimpy tops and knotted headbands were part of every well-styled stage look. Although the classic military print can still be spotted here and there today, it has left its greatest hype behind.
Whoever is on the lookout, however, now has the comeback of the camouflage trend in their sights. With a decisive update: instead of the military, it is now being used in the hunting scene. Realtree, or real tree, is the name of the pattern that pretty much lives up to its promise. Trees, branches, leaves and grasses are depicted on the garments in earthy tones such as brown, sand and green.

The US streetwear brand Stüssy launched several Realtree pieces with its Holiday Collection back in November 2023. Since then, the pattern has been spreading unstoppably on the streets.
What to combine with it
Jeans and leather jackets, cargo trousers and rugged shoes. Either in muted tones such as brown, black and green, or you can add bright accents with vibrant colours such as orange, pink or royal blue.
Then the hunt for the right trend piece can begin:
