For those who don't know falafel:
Falafel is a delicacy from the Arab world. The deep-fried balls made from pureed beans or chickpeas are increasingly delighting the palates of more northern regions. So it's no coincidence that people are trying to incorporate the filling falafel into new recipes.
Recipe: Falafel with lettuce and blackberries
Main course for 4 people
Ingredients
- 200 grams falafel mix, e.g. Al Fez
- 2 tablespoons HOLL rapeseed oil
- 1 orange
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp aceto balsamico bianco
- Salt
- Pepper
- 200 grams of lettuce
- 250 grams of blackberries
How it works
Prepare falafel mix according to pack instructions. Shape the falafel mix into 12 equal-sized balls. Heat the rapeseed oil in a non-stick frying pan. Fry the falafel on all sides over a medium heat for approx. 5 mins. Grate the orange zest. Squeeze the orange. Mix the orange zest and a little juice with the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Mix the lettuce and blackberries with the orange vinaigrette. Serve the salad with the falafel.
