In May, we met up with Ulrich Schröder, one of Disney’s best-known illustrators, at Fantasy Basel – the festival for film, game, comic and cosplay fans. Right from the very start, Ulrich Schröder looked up to Disney’s famous illustrator Carl Barks because of the heart and soul he put into every drawing. After a few years at Disney Germany, Ulrich Schröder worked as an Art Director at Disney Paris for 20 years. Today, he does freelance work for Disney and designs the covers of Mickey Mouse magazines among other things.
