Taupe: the on-trend colour
The trend colour is difficult to describe, as it comes in so many shades. The most common variant is certainly a light grey-brown that is often found in the fashion world. With a touch of blue, the colour is often reminiscent of pigeon plumage. But it doesn't matter what you call it: on the walls, taupe has a soothing effect and lends a cosy ambience to the room without giving the rest of the furnishings a dramatic look. A wall colour for "beginners" with which almost nothing can go wrong.

What to look out for before you buy
So you don't rush straight to the DIY shop, paint your walls and regret your action, we've got some advice for you:
- Pay attention to the colour of the floor: what colour is your floor? The ideal taupe tones won't be the same with an oak parquet floor and an industrial concrete floor.
- Take the time to choose the right colour. Paint A3 sheets with the colour of your choice and stick them temporarily to the wall. Next to a piece of furniture and close to the floor, for example. This way, you can see directly what effect the colour has on you over the course of the day and depending on the light and whether the colour goes with your current layout.
- Not every colour is suitable for every room! In the bathroom, for example, the humidity in the air is much higher. If the walls have been painted with a normal colour, they are much more susceptible to mould and bubbles. We therefore recommend fungus- and moisture-resistant colours for the bathroom and kitchen.
