Galaxus Finds: Laura’s absolute must-haves

TikTok is brimming with videos of people sharing their Muji, Ikea and Amazon finds. Fellow editor Pia has launched a new series in response: Galaxus Finds. I’m up this time with seven everyday favourites from our range.

A cute reusable shopping bag

These colourful bags from Kind Bag are made from 100 per cent recycled PET and can be folded into a compact bundle thanks to an inner pocket. I always carry one with me to be prepared for any spontaneous shopping. Owing to their pretty design and the fact that they’re super easy to clean, I also use my Kind Bags as picnic or pool bags.

An open-concept shoe rack

In winter, my shoes take up more space. Summer shoes, like sandals and sneakers, don’t need quite as much. Whatever the season and whatever shoes you use on the daily, you can house them on this rack from Love it Store it. What makes it so cool? It’s expandable from 64 cm to 118 cm! If you need more storage space still, you can stack several racks on top of each other. I’d love to see this much flexibility in other pieces of furniture!

A head-turning overdoor rack

If you live in an old building, drilling holes in the wall can lead to crumbling plaster – and a looming nervous breakdown. That’s why I’ve opted for an overdoor rack, which doesn’t threaten imminent collapse. Now, while the rack is hardly visible under all the jackets, I’m very happy to have got my hands on a rare pretty model that’s reminiscent of the classic «Hang it all» by Vitra. Meanwhile, the double-stacked hooks offer plenty of hanging space.

A shoehorn for the comfort-minded

The 57 cm shoehorn from Wenko may be the most bougie item I own, but I couldn’t go without it anymore. Not having to bend down every time I put my shoes on is the kind of luxury I’m proud to indulge in. And it seems I’m not the only one; my first shoehorn, which I kept right outside my door in the stairwell, was stolen. From now on, it stays safely inside my flat.

A fetchingly minimalist soap dish

I swear by bar soap for my shower routine. After a lengthy search for a nice dish to house it in, I finally found one from the brand Ferm Living. It includes a plate and coaster (meaning no soap spills on my shower tray!) and is made of high-quality raw, sand-coloured porcelain. It’s a beauty!

A shower curtain giving living room vibes

As with the soap dish, I’d been on the hunt for a shower curtain that’s anything but ordinary. And just like with the soap dish, Ferm Living came in clutch. This striped curtain would look at home in any room, and its robust organic cotton creates a cosy feeling in the bathroom. Thanks to its heaviness, it won’t cling to your body. The shower curtain can be washed on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees.

A pretty power strip

No home office is complete without a place to charge your laptop as well as other devices such as your phone or camera. Power strips are the sensible solution, though they rarely contribute to the room’s decor. That’s why I opted for one in a strong Yves Klein bluethat I feel I don’t have to hide away. It’s the little things that make all the (visual) difference.

No need to bury this blue power strip out of sight after work.
