Far from ordinary: outdoor lighting at a glance
I often select design pieces that impress with their appearance and show you what they're used for. This time, it was the LED solar lamps that won me over.
As I don't have a garden, I've never given too much thought to outdoor lighting. To my surprise, a lot has happened in terms of design. In the meantime, there are models on the market that are so well made that they're almost indistinguishable from conventional lamps. So they're becoming interesting for me too, because they have one big advantage: I can use the lamps indoors as well as outdoors. If you don't already have one, let me show you the many advantages of wireless lamps.
Mobile solutions

More and more table lamps are cable-free thanks to a charging function via USB or solar power and light you up for hours on end. This makes them perfect for indoors, as well as outdoors. As most of the models have frosted glass, the lamps create a warm atmosphere reminiscent of candles. The light is soft and glare-free. Some models also come with a hanse so you can hang or carry them.
Outdoor lighting has the advantage of being wind-resistant, without flickering and, for some models, even frost-resistant. So they're not just interesting when the weather's fine.

The combination makes the difference: the more tastefully designed the mobile lamps are, the more you'll use them indoors too. As well as being made of wood or plastic, some models are complemented by a metal or wooden handle.

Floor lamps

It's been a long time since weatherproof floor and floor lamps looked like street lamps. They are equipped with LEDs or solar collectors and therefore consume little energy. They often need to be plugged in, but their light intensity is adjustable. These lights are perfect for creating a beautiful warm atmosphere or guiding your guests.

Applications

Sconces are perfect for front doors or terraces. They are created to withstand dust and moisture, to light the way and to highlight elements. If you prefer to use them as wall decorations, I recommend a round model of different sizes, scattered along the wall. You can also choose a variant shaped to break up the light source and cast decorative shadows.
Some sconces are fixed, but have a flexible head to direct the light where you need it. To stop you tripping over steps, for example.

Today's models come in many shapes. From retro lanterns to geometric silhouettes, designers have let their imaginations run wild and come up with something for every taste.
