Do It Yourself - a different kind of towel rail

After showing you how to recycle an old snowboard and use it as a shelf, today we're showing you how to turn old ice hockey sticks into towel rails.

Information
Difficulty: easy
Duration: approx. 1 hour
Equipment list
- 2 ice hockey sticks
- 2 leather belts
- Screws (4.5 x 40mm) with brass screw covers
- 4 8mm dowels
- 5mm wood dowel
- Stone dowel 8mm
- Cutter or sharp scissors
- Stylo
- Perforator (cordless)
- Cross line laser
Adapted tools
Step 1 - measuring the gap
With a laser, first project a straight line onto the wall and mark the location with a pen. Then measure the gap for the hanging loops, so that the hockey sticks don't hang crooked.

Step 2 - cutting the leather
Then cut the leftover leather with a cutter to the desired length. Punch a hole in each end of the leather strips using a cordless hole punch.

Step 3 - attach the leather straps
Now drill a hole in the marked places, place a dowel and screw the hanging loops to the wall.

Step 4 - fixing the screw covers
Finally, fit the brass screw covers to the leather hangers again. All you have to do now is position the stock in its new place.

Finished - you've turned your old ice hockey sticks into some very original furniture!
