Danish design for every home - new from Ferm Living
Are you looking for home accessories that don't look like mass-produced goods? Ferm Living focuses on natural materials, handcrafted production and clear shapes. Here are selected pieces from the current collection.
In 2006, Danish graphic designer Trine Andersen was looking for a new wallpaper. As she couldn't find anything she liked, she designed her own. This private project gave rise to the design brand Ferm Living. The label employs natural materials as much as possible.
Light and glass: atmosphere for indoors
The «Ripple Portable Lamp» is a portable lamp made of hand-blown glass with a ribbed surface and opal white finish. It emits warm, diffused light and can be taken anywhere thanks to its battery operation. On the terrace, balcony or as an eye-catcher on the dining table. The base is made of chrome-plated aluminium and is 10.2 centimetres high.

The «Muro centrepiece» is also made of hand-blown, textured coloured glass. The container can be used as a fruit bowl, cake stand or key rack in the hallway. It is 30 centimetres wide and seven centimetres high.
The «Kiru glass set» contains two hand-blown drinking glasses made from 100 per cent recycled glass. Each glass is made using the Japanese kurinuki technique, in which the shape is carved out of the material by hand. The glass holds a quarter of a litre and is 8.5 centimetres high. After use, the glasses go in the dishwasher.
Tea, table and kitchen
Each mug from the «Koyo Tea» series has a hand-applied contrasting glaze with shapes reminiscent of leaves. No two pieces look the same. In addition to the mug, the set includes a ceramic egg with holes for loose tea and a matching lid. The mug holds 400 millilitres.
The «Hale» tablecloth, woven from a linen-cotton blend, measures 240 by 150 centimetres. There is a matching tea towel (70 by 50 centimetres). Both textiles are washable at 40 degrees.
Vases set living room accents
The 22 centimetre high «Evio» vase stands out with its curved shape and wide, overhanging rim. Each piece differs slightly in shape and texture from the next.
The «Eddy» wall vase made of mirror-polished stainless steel creates a calm contrast in the room. The narrow, cylindrical vessel is framed by a curved metal sheet. The vase is 29 centimetres high, ten centimetres wide and has a diameter of 3.7 centimetres.
For outdoors: Fire and plants
The fire pit «Solene» made of Corten steel rusts in a controlled manner and forms a characteristic patina. It burns with a calm, low flame. If you set up several units, you can extend the fire line as desired. The fireplace is 80 centimetres wide and 55 centimetres long.
The «Hourglass» pot made of iron with a rust-like patina has a diameter of 30 centimetres and a height of 42.5 centimetres, offering enough space for strong plants. It is also suitable for outdoor use.
For those who leave plants unattended for long periods of time, the Mercury water balls are a practical solution. The set of two made of glass waters automatically: Insert the stem into the soil, the vacuum inside releases water into the dry soil. Each ball holds 300 millilitres.
Carpets
The «Sen» rug runner is woven flat from 70% wool and 30% cotton. The check pattern with a relief effect gives the floor a noticeable texture.
«Apple» creates a soft surface for playing, lounging and dreaming in the children's room. The rug has a diameter of 110 centimetres and is hand-tufted from New Zealand wool.
