Spotted in the wild: the Nike Shox MR4 × Martine Rose
by Laura Scholz
The latest edition of Michael Dupouy's "All Gone - The Finest Of Street Culture" has been published and makes streetwear hearts around the world beat faster.
In February 2023, Clarks and Packer launched the "Wallabee" on the market. In the same month, people were suddenly walking around the world in gigantic red rubber boots. The highlight of July 23: the "Shox MR4" by Nike and designer Martine Rose.
The fact that I can date these (and countless other) too-cool-to-be-true collaborations so accurately is unfortunately not thanks to my own grey matter. Nope, these laurels clearly belong to Michael Dupouy. In his strictly limited streetwear bible "All Gone - The Finest Of Street Culture", the author, publisher, art collector and entrepreneur has been curating the absolute highlights of street culture every year since 2006.
Now the latest issue is (finally) out and I rarely have so much fun reminiscing about the past. Dupouy had the New York-based artist Daniel Arsham design the cover, or rather the covers, and the book's cover is enough to make your heart beat faster. You have to choose between two variants, "Quartz" and "Bronze" - or buy both. A combination of offset and screen printing, embossing as well as matt lamination, glossy varnish and sand varnish effect ensures that you will actually want to touch "All Gone" permanently and never want to put it down.
Once you've had your fill of looking and fiddling with the cover, you can lose yourself in the impressive collection of design events inside this almanac. Neatly organised in chronological order with the most important facts and figures. It goes without saying that author Dupouy has also included a personal foreword.
As always, this edition is also limited. So if you want to join in the fiddling and smouldering, you should be quick to get your hands on one of the 2000 copies. You can buy "All Gone - The Finest Of Street Culture 2023" exclusively at allgonebook.com. For 80 francs, one of the books is yours - if you can make up your mind.
Always in the mood for good hits, great trips and clinking drinks.
