Boxer braids tutorial with a glittering happy ending

Braided hairstyles are part of the open-air programme. But how exactly do you conjure up a 'plaited braid' as a complete beginner? In the last part of our tutorial series, braid pro Carla Opetnik shows you how to create asymmetric, glittering boxer braids with a little practice.
What's better than boxer braids? Boxer braids with glitter! Admittedly, the answer will hardly surprise anyone, as pretty much everything is better when you spice it up with a pinch of glitter. Please keep this conclusion in mind when reading, it will be important later on.
Showdown
In the last video of our three-part tutorial series, braiding pro Carla Opetnik from Zopfchopf, video producer Stephanie Tresch and I are dedicating ourselves to a braided hairstyle that is probably the most "familiar" to you in everyday life: sporty boxer braids. In other words, these are two or more Dutch braid strands that lie close to the head. Carla shows you how to create an asymmetrical take on the classic hairstyle and what you should look out for when recreating it.

Shine, shimmer, glimmer
Remember what we agreed on at the beginning of the article? That glitter makes everything better, that it settles like magic fairy dust on sorrow and worry and ensures that you no longer feel either? In any case, Carla gives the braiding on my head a strikingly sparkling festival twist: glitter roots. That's why I brought back a specially premixed glitter gel for face, body and hair from my last visit to the London make-up fair IMATS. For a one-off project, however, it is also sufficient to mix glitter of your choice with a little hair gel. The following rules apply:
- The more different sizes of glitter you mix, the cooler the effect.
- The finer the glitter, the harder it will be to get it out of your hair later.
And as a little warning: Please never use glitter glue for this purpose. You'll never get that stuff washed out again.

And please don't ask me how I got it all out of my hair again. Maybe one day I'll be ready to talk about this slightly traumatic experience. Would make a good follow-up story, wouldn't it?

Flashback
What are Dutch braids, what are space buns? And how do you get them on your head in time for festival season? We got to the bottom of these questions in the first two videos:

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
