The reaping and death of my cannabis plants – Marty’s grow report, chapter 5
by Martin Jud
The lush leaves of my little green hell are starting to spread out. As is a heavenly scent. The simulated autumn has made my hemp plants thrive. There are small buds everywhere and the jungle is getting dense.
Things are getting crowded in the tent. Since changing the light to simulate early autumn, my hemp has shot up to almost three times its height within three weeks. It’s day 54 of my grow and the tallest plant is 138 centimetres – her siblings are 119, 107 and 86 centimetres. They’re all bearing dozens of small flowers.
What was only a few white hairs three weeks ago is now growing into something more beardy. All the green in my tent is making me feel good about my CBD cannabis. I think it’s over the hump and should yield a few grammes. Three weeks ago, this was far from certain. At that time my green thumb was pointing downwards because of a dead plant and sick leaves.
But as it turns out, it was necessary for that one plantlet to meet its maker. There’s no space for more than four plants.
The fact that the plants are doing well is all thanks to my skills. Erm...
After switching to a bulb with a higher level of red, I removed all the unhealthy-looking leaves from three of the four females again. Fortunately, the leaves remained healthy after that.
When it comes to watering the plants, the largest one now requires about two litres of water a day. The smallest one guzzles about 3/4 of a litre and the middle one needs one and a half. Once every one and a half weeks, I also administer the enzyme preparation Cannazym to the ladies. They also get an organic flowering fertiliser once a week. Terra Flores by Canna, to be precise.
Finally! My cannabis likes it in my tent. This is truly a small miracle. And quite fitting for today’s winter solstice.
Being an old Celt at heart, I thank Mother Nature and rejoice.
I find my muse in everything. When I don’t, I draw inspiration from daydreaming. After all, if you dream, you don’t sleep through life.
