5 on-trend shoes for a stylish stroll through autumn
Sandal season is officially over, but that's no reason for sad faces - or feet. These five trendy styles ensure that you can have fun in (closed) shoes.
This time of year, we need a little bit more of everything. More fabric, more layers, more shoes. But that doesn't mean your ankles won't see any sunlight for months. Because: three of these five shoe trends are wonderfully airy despite the low temperatures.
Loafers
The smart loafer has long since left its spitfire image behind and has been dominating the streets for a little while now. They are particularly popular with white or colourful socks that peek out from under trouser hems or serve as a break in style with short skirts. They look just as good as a frame for bare ankles.
Biker boots
Klobbish biker boots let you sweep over piles of leaves and cracked chestnuts. Their caps can be angular, the soles thick with a rough profile. Buckles and chain details do the rest to make autumn look pretty rough.
Mary Janes
They are the slightly more exciting version of ballerinas and it's hard to imagine any foot without them right now: Mary Janes. The delicate little shoes with the characteristic strap are just as uncomplicated to style as loafers: they like socks just as much as bare feet.
Cowboy boots
Gallop into autumn with a loud yeehaw if you let yourself be carried away by this trend. And no false modesty when it comes to the combination. The boots don't want to disappear under trouser legs, but rather be the highlight with skirts, dresses and shorts. If long trousers are a must due to the temperature, tuck them into the boots or roll them up high enough to show off the boots.
Finches for outdoors
If you're the kind of person who prefers to step outside in autumn and winter wearing nothing but a duvet and cosy finches, I have good news for you. You can now officially wear the latter on the street. Slippers and loafers lined with (faux) fur are getting a free pass this season.
