5 creative ideas for your Advent wreath
These five alternatives to the run-of-the-mill Advent wreath are perfect if you want this year’s Christmas decorations to be creative and new.
I’ve gone on a hunt for the perfect Advent wreath and have discovered so many cool examples and products that I can’t wait to share them with you. They’re a far cry from the classic wreaths with fir branches and red pillar candles that you’ve probably seen many times – and that’s exactly what I like about these alternatives.
1. Creative candles
No matter if you go for greenery or not, candles in special shapes turn every Advent wreath into a real eye-catcher. Spiral candles, for example, twist and turn their way to everyone’s attention – and it works. And if it doesn’t, their shiny surface might do the job. In any case, these candles stand out more than plain, matt stick candles.
2. Fir alternative: dried flower wreaths for every occasion
Wreaths made from dried flowers are also a welcome change. They add an individual and often playful touch to your decorations and fit in perfectly with a modern, creative style. Best of all, they last for a long time, so you’ll be able to enjoy them during the Christmas period and beyond – on your front door or in the conservatory.

3. The chameleon of Advent wreaths
A holder for 4 candles on a tray is ideal for creating your very own Advent wreath. You can decorate it as you like every year – with fir branches, glitter balls or dried fruit, for instance. Be as creative as you like and put together a real eye-catcher!

4. Winter elegance: Advent wreaths in blue and green
It may sound like a strange colour combo, but blue and green look classy and modern together. The lush green of fir branches or eucalyptus leaves provides the festive backdrop, while the blue adds a cool touch. Candles in strong shades of blue give your wreath a wintery, icy look that’s super classy. Lighter shades of blue or green, on the other hand, have a soft and calming effect. When lit, they radiate a warm and inviting glow.

5. Simple but smart Advent candle
Calendar candles are a great alternative to classic Advent wreaths. Available in subtle or bright colours, they’re either elegant background decorations or real highlights. Drape some greenery around your calendar candle and it immediately spreads Christmas spirit. A single candle has another advantage – it takes up almost no space.
