10 carpets that are guaranteed not to rub off
The new carpet designs are no longer just rectangular, but round, wobbly or twisted. They bring momentum to the rigid right angles of our rooms.
Until now, carpets were easy to see through. They were just as angular as the majority of our living spaces. But now something is happening on the market. More and more designs are popping up that are as soft to the touch as they should be and can hardly be categorised as geometric. I like that. Here are ten models that create more cosiness with their curves.
1. "Canoe Adventure" falls off the grid
The "Canoe Adventure" rug from Lifetime Kidsrooms moulds itself to everything around it thanks to its curves and makes for fun. It comes with a matching fabric canoe so that children can sit and play on it. Its tufted 3D landscape features trees and rivers that appear to flow out of the round shape at the sides. With a diameter of 130 centimetres, "Canoe Adventure" is suitable for children's rooms as well as without a canoe in small niches as a corner flatterer.

2. there's a spark with "Spark"
"Spark" from Zuiver has an impressive oval shape and may remind some of the slide buttons on an iPhone, for example when switching on and off. It has a circle on one side, which is created using a special wave technique and gives the deep-pile carpet more structure. It works particularly well between "Spark" and round tables, but also on the side of a bed or sofa. And its neutral sand colour can match pretty much any colour scheme.

3. "Phila" is full of contrasts
One side shines, the other is matt: the Zuiver "Phila" rug stands out with its curves and surface - without being too thick. This is due to the harmonious colour combination and the soft silhouette, which visually resembles a knot. It comes into its own in seating areas or even on the wall. Its pattern is so decorative that it should not be hidden under furniture. That would also suit the maker Fransje Gimbrère. He designed the foot flatterer and realised it by hand in a Belgian weaving mill. The best thing is that "Phila" is available in a cool and warm colour combination.

4. "Oona" cuts a swathe through the carpet
The "Oona" design follows a clear line - at least through its single-colour surface. However, its shape is neither circular nor oval. It is part of a collection and is available in three sizes and the colours pink, mint green and grey. Each variant is decorated with a woven-in dark line and magically attracts attention. This is why "Oona" cuts a fine figure in the dining room, under the coffee table, in the reading corner or as a connecting element in a hallway.
5. "View" for a room with a beautiful view
The tufted "View" rug from Ferm Living may lie on the floor, but it is inspired by an aerial view of the earth. It is made by hand using the traditional technique of rug crochet and is available in calming beige or vivid red-brown tones. The fringes at the ends are therefore not simply decorative. They emphasise the design and, together with the other fields, characterise the structure of the rug. Round furniture looks really good on "View". But they shouldn't obscure too much of the pretty motif.

6. "Shape" rounds off
Danish designer Mette Dittmer is known for creating furnishings in the Scandinavian style. It is therefore no coincidence that the "Shape" woollen rug is beautifully designed and functional. It impresses with a dense, soft pile, a delicate line pattern and its soft contours. It can define a special area in the home without distracting from it. The simple shape and the three available colours - powder pink, grey-blue and thymia grey - ensure this.

7. "Zabol" creates optical illusions
With "Zabol", it is difficult to decide where to look first. To the graphic pattern? Or the sophisticated shape, which appears to be made up of three egg-shaped circles? Whichever you choose: with its understated dark blue and light beige colours and wavy contours, the hand-tufted wool rug is a great choice for maritime or glamorous living spaces. 8. "Cotton Flower" creates harmony
The "Cotton Flower" cotton rug is not only made of natural fibres. It is also adorned with a natural motif depicting a flower. Because it is made by hand, no two models are the same. The idea comes from Lorena Canals, who is regularly inspired by flora and fauna and places great importance on function. That is why all her rugs are not only decorative, but also washable. This means they can easily shine in the children's room, living room or bathroom.

9. "Bubble" zooms in
Like a soap bubble, only more durable: the foot flatterer "Bubble" was created by Dutch designer Sjoerd Vroonland for Moooi with the aim of capturing our gaze. A close-up of soap bubbles can be seen on its surface, which is intended to calm us with its swirling and fleeting colour palette. At the same time, its oranic shape catches the eye and hypnotises the gaze. "Bubble" cuts a fine figure under a dining or coffee table. You can also use the rug as a wall decoration. It is available in the colours white, yellow and black.

10. "Olympic" adds depth
This carpet design takes the running tracks of the Olympic Stadium and uses them as a decorative element. It also plays with a visually appealing colour gradient. But the best thing about it is the rounded edges. They ensure that "Olympic" runs gently along the sideboard, bench or bed. But it can also stand on its own and become an island for the reading area or make the entrance more inviting. It's just not guaranteed to serve as a racetrack.
