Order of products and offers

How are the displayed products sorted?

Our goal is to show customers the most relevant products when they search for products or browse our product lists. To achieve this, we try to understand the intent of the search query as best as possible. We then display the most relevant products from our range based on their details (title, category, brand, features).

The results are sorted according to the following factors:

  • Match accuracy for the intent of the search query
  • Search and shopping behaviour
  • Availability and estimated delivery time
  • Popularity and recency
  • Attractiveness and price

The relative weighting of the individual factors depends heavily on the product range and the search behaviour of customers, which constantly changes. Therefore, search results for the same query may differ slightly within a very short time.

What is the order in curated listicles?

In «Top selling» and «Top rated» listicles, products are sorted by the same logic as they are if you use the filters on the product category page. Top-selling listicles are sorted by relevance (see above). Top-rated listicles are based on an algorithm that combines the total number of customer reviews and the number of stars. This is why a product with a lower average rating (but a higher number of ratings) may be positioned higher than one with fewer ratings, but a higher number of stars on average.

How is the offer for a product selected?

There may be several offers for a product (marketplace offers and Digitec Galaxus’s own offers). An algorithm is used to determine which offer is displayed first and what the order of all other offers for the same product is.

Aiming at achieving the greatest benefit for customers, the algorithm takes into account the following parameters: price, delivery time and minimum order quantity.
