APPLE BUSINESS MANAGER / APPLE SCHOOL MANAGER
Set up Apple devices in no time at all
What is the DEP?
From ten Apple devices to ten thousand, Apple Business Manager makes it east to set up and manage all devices. It works seamlessly with mobile device management solutions to set up Mac, iPad, iPhone and Apple TV – without cables and manual configuration.
With Apple Business Manager (ABM) or Apple School Manager (ASM), setting up organisation-owned devices no longer requires manual configuration. Users can start using their devices right out of the box. Once devices have been turned on for the first time, account settings, apps, and access to internal IT services are immediately configured over the air. There is no need for internal IT teams to physically access each device to complete the setup.
With the DEP, setting up and rolling out organisation-owned devices is much easier. Moreover, it prevents users from modifying or even deleting their own profiles that you as a company specified up front. On the other hand, if a device is lost, for example, you can quickly perform a remote deletion via your MDM.
How does ABM / ASM work?
1. Registration
To begin the enrolment process, go to Apple and create an account. You will also need to create a special Apple ID. After registration, you will receive an Organization ID.
2. Setup
Create an administrator account to manage the device registration in your organisation. Administrators can be specified for the entire organisation or for individual departments.
3. Configuration
Provide your preferred reseller’s Reseller ID. We are happy to provide you with our ID on request. You can connect your account to several MDM servers; devices can be assigned by order number or by serial number Future orders can be automatically assigned to any standard MDM server.
4. Assigning
Users are assigned to profiles via the MDM solution. Once a user has run the Setup Assistant, the device is automatically registered with MDM and configured with the correct settings and apps.
Note
Apple requires a transparent supply chain to allow devices purchased from us to be managed in the ABM / ASM. End customer, reseller, distributor and Apple have to form a supply chain, whereby each participant needs a Reseller / Organization ID. In order to increase availability, digitec / Galaxus may occasionally have to procure iPhones and iPads abroad from distributors who do not have their own Reseller ID. Therefore, please contact us before placing your order. We will make sure that the goods assigned to you can be managed in the ABM / ASM.
