Product details
Whether in the Dolomites or in the remotest corners of the world, alpine routes in mixed terrain, such as rock, ice, and snow, are among the most demanding endeavors in mountain sports. Our clothing must therefore meet the highest requirements to ensure the body remains ideally protected and does not cool down during the interplay of exertion and cold outside temperatures.
This revised model of our established Ortles Hybrid TirolWool® Responsive jacket impresses with its proven hybrid body mapping structure. Durastretch inserts are used on the back and sides, providing exceptional comfort due to the wool content (22 percent) and ensuring freedom of movement thanks to the elastane. Additionally, strategically placed insulation areas made from TirolWool® Responsive ensure excellent thermoregulation of the body and keep you warm even when wet.
The TirolWool® Responsive material is sourced from valuable wool from Tyrolean mountain sheep, and the insulation material is finished with Responsive yarns. These yarns contain thermoreactive minerals that recycle the far infrared energy emitted by the body and slowly release it, creating lasting warmth. If conditions become uncomfortable, the close-fitting, insulated hood, which can be adjusted at the back, offers additional protection. When temperatures or intensity rise, the jacket can be stowed away in its own pocket.
As part of the Salewa Committed collection, the jacket features a PFC-free DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. Furthermore, the Durastretch material consists of 22 percent fine merino wool, ensuring pleasant wearing comfort against the skin.
The Ortles Hybrid TirolWool® Responsive Jacket is our most versatile insulation jacket, developed specifically for the demanding requirements of alpine mountaineering, offering high freedom of movement and thermo-regulating material properties.
