Product details
The Agner Hybrid Down Jacket is a hybrid insulation layer designed for alpine climbing, where long, cold belay phases are often followed by high-intensity sections.
Salewa's designers carefully tailor the design and materials based on body mapping to align with the insulation and heat exchange functions of the body during the sweat-inducing active phases and the cool, calm phases of alpine climbing. This hybrid construction warms only where the body needs it, eliminating unnecessary insulation. The down (90/10 high-loft with a fill power of 750) is located only on the upper body, back, and shoulders, while lightweight, abrasion-resistant stretch softshell is used in areas where climbers require more breathability and freedom of movement. However, the true secret of the Agner Hybrid Down Jacket lies in the down chambers, which are not stitched in the usual manner but are welded instead. Laser perforations between the partitions allow air to flow freely and excess body heat to escape. The result is an outstanding warmth-to-weight ratio with excellent compressibility.
Additionally, the Agner Hybrid Down Jacket features a lightweight hood that fits under any helmet and provides extra protection against cold winds. The underarms, sides, hem, and hood are made from Salewa's new generation of abrasion-resistant 4-way Durastretch softshell, delivering the necessary breathability and freedom of movement for climbing.
