Product details
This robust overshirt Revolution is made from heavy 8-wale organic cotton corduroy and features a soft, velvety surface. The shirt is equipped with distinctive square utility chest pockets, a button placket with tonal buttons, and adjustable cuffs. The loop at the collar is designed for easy hanging, and for added comfort, it has a traditional double-layered back with a box pleat that offers more freedom of movement. Wear it as a warm shirt in everyday life during the cold season or layer it over a printed t-shirt or sweater for a casual look. Over the decades, corduroy has been valued for its durability and trendy appearance. The fabric dates back to ancient Egypt and was considered a material for the upper class. In the 18th century, corduroy evolved into materials for lower social classes, while British textile manufacturers developed the distinctive ridges that transformed it into the corduroy we know today. The fabric quickly gained appreciation among teachers and academics, and since corduroy was regarded as a very durable material, it became popular as workwear after the Industrial Revolution. In the 1970s, corduroy achieved fashion status as an anti-establishment symbol of a cool working-class fabric, and this status remains relevant today.
