Our engineers have designed these sunglasses for hiking. They are lightweight and provide good support, making them ideal for regular use in the mountains.
Regular hikers will love these hiking sunglasses. They weigh only 26 g and are equipped with UV protection lenses. The larger lenses offer superior peripheral vision.
The classification of the tinted lenses is in accordance with the ISO 12312-1 standard: Category 1 includes lightly tinted lenses for subdued sunlight. Category 2 refers to moderately tinted lenses for medium sunlight. Category 3 denotes darkly tinted lenses for strong sunlight (sea and mountains), which absorb between 82% and 92% of visible light. Category 4 includes very darkly tinted lenses for exceptional sunlight (high mountains), which absorb between 92% and 97% of visible light. Our lenses are made of polycarbonate, a material that is highly impact-resistant but not particularly scratch-resistant.
Even if the lenses are scratched, the UV protection remains fully intact; the mirror effect is purely aesthetic. This also applies to the color of the sunglasses. Whether gray, brown, or colored – the protection applies to every color. A material with UV protection shields your eyes from invisible UV rays that are always present – in winter, summer, sunny weather, and even on cloudy days, which can be harmful to the eyes. To preserve vision, the lenses of our sunglasses are made from polycarbonate with a blend of UV protection material to protect the eyes from harmful UVA and UVB rays.
