Our M3600 - the famous double-pleat shirt by Fred Perry - has been reinterpreted by Kris Van Assche in a tailored, brilliantly bold red. Three botanically inspired badges featuring photographs from the designer's own floral collection frame our embroidered laurel wreath: a very subcultural interpretation of one of Van Assche's sustainable patterns.

"I love all kinds of uniforms; they are a recurring and central theme in my work. There is the work, of course. And the tailored uniform, reminiscent of school uniforms, military outfits, and formal wear in general. Within youth subcultures, I have often talked about how clothing becomes a code of belonging; the idea of being part of a group, being part of a team, and how to express that through clothing. By redesigning these uniforms, I soften or undermine their power, bringing vulnerability or youthfulness into traditionally rigid outfits. I love it when there are rules to break." Kris Van Assche
