After Steve Caballero finished third in the overall standings of the Gold Cup Series and was named "Rookie of the Year" in 1980, he proved he was ready to design his own pro signature model. Initially, a simple propeller/skull nose art graphic was suggested to him, which he declined. Steve presented some of his own sketches as an option, one of which featured a crouching dragon, and that is the direction they went in. The artist VCJ revised the design a few times before applying the final color. The deck was first released in December 1980, and the graphic was so well received that it wasn't replaced until 1986. Originally released: 1980.
