The young Mike Vallely, who was discovered by Lance at a competition in Virginia Beach, was asked to join the Powell-Peralta team and quickly became known as a top street skater. After initially rejecting the Roach graphic, Vallely worked closely with VCJ on an elephant motif. Both Mike and his elephant deck became very popular.
