10. La Aurora training kit
With the La Aurora Training Kit, you will learn to recognize and identify different notes and aromas in cigar smoke. Professional cigar tasters experience a variety of tastes and aromas when enjoying a cigar. Many people believe this is nonsense and that tobacco simply tastes like tobacco. However, if that were true, what would be the difference between different cigars? Why do you prefer one particular cigar over another? Not all cigars taste the same, and the subtle nuances make the difference. Being able to perceive these subtleties is a matter of practice. La Aurora, a cigar factory from the Dominican Republic, is launching the world's first training set that allows aficionados to develop and refine their sensory skills.
The set contains a box with four "Pure grade" cigars in Corona format. "Pure grade," also known as "Perritos," are cigars made from a single variety of tobacco, enabling professionals to test the quality of the leaves and the fermentation phase. Additionally, they can build on this basic taste and decide which tobaccos to add to the final blend. These four "Pure grade" individual cigars are the components of the finished composition Preferidos No.3 from the La Aurora 1903 Edition, which is also included in this set.
A special highlight of this box is the "Barber Pole" cigar, a multi-cover cigar that contains different wrapper leaves on various parts of the cigar, six in total. The wrapper especially reveals differences in the taste of a cigar. Light this cigar and experience the differences and the development of flavors over the course of the smoking time.
Expert tip: To truly perceive all the nuances in a cigar, let the smoke pass through your nose, as it detects many aromas and flavors that escape the palate.
