6. Ashton Cigars Virgin Sun Grown Robusto

For this powerful series, only leaves from the upper harvest sections that have received plenty of sunlight are selected. The blend is crafted by Carlos Fuente Jr. from Dominican tobaccos aged for four to five years. The wrapper is grown exclusively in Ecuador for the VSG series. The result is the perfect balance of complexity and character that Ashton is known for. The Cigar Journal described the cigar as follows: “Those seeking full-bodied cigars and an intoxicating flavor experience with a complex, long finish will find exactly that in the Ashton VSG. It is a perfected cigar that showcases a peacock's tail of flavors on the palate.” The VSG line, which has received multiple "Brilliant" awards, has also been honored with the Cigar Trophy for the best cigar from the Dominican Republic.

7. Montecristo No. 5

The No. 5 is the "smallest" Montecristo, but should therefore not be underestimated. When smoked relatively fresh, the impetuous, almost aggressive character quickly comes to the fore and you feel a little taken by surprise by the "little one". Appropriate storage helps to break this unruliness. If you have the patience, you will be rewarded with notes of wood and spices typical of the brand, which are balanced, clean and intense. Rum in the evening, coffee in the afternoon.
