CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid derived from the female inflorescences of Cannabis sativa/indica. There are over 80 cannabinoids in the hemp plant. The most important cannabinoids are the intoxicating tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and the non-intoxicating cannabidiol (also called CBD). The latter reduces the psychotropic effect of THC. CBD hemp is not subject to the Narcotics Act.
