Trinidad Cigars Vigia

The name Trinidad is a tribute to the beautiful city of La Santísima Trinidad on the south coast of Cuba. Built in the 16th century, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. The roots of the Trinidad brand date back to 1969. For many years, like the Cohiba, it was made only as an exclusive gift from the Cuban state for foreign dignitaries. Only in 1998 was it released for general sale, but only in small quantities. For several years, Trinidad brand cigars were manufactured at El Laguito, the historic Cohiba factory. The special tobacco blends with filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo tobacco growing zone make this brand unique and exclusive. Today, production is located in Pinar del Rio, the most important city in the Vuelta Abajo.

At first, there was only one format of Trinidad: the Fundadores. In 2003, the brand was expanded with the launch of the Reyes, Coloniales, and Robusto Extra formats. At the same time, the brand layout was modernized and adapted to the high quality of this Habano. Since 2009, the Trinidad Robustos T has completed the line. In 2012, production of the Robusto Extra and Robustos T was discontinued.

During the XVI Habanos Festival 2014, the new Vigía vitola was introduced. This vitola de galera - Torres has a ring gauge of 54 and a length of 110mm. Both the vitola de galera - Torres and the vitola de salida - Vigía convey the essence of Trinidad and the area on the edge of the Valle de los Ingenios, on the south coast of Cuba. Imposing watchtowers, erected to oversee the sugar cane plantations, characterize the farmland and evoke dreams of the beautiful landscape.
