Product details

This is a cuvée made from grapes sourced from the wind-swept, exceptional vineyards of Drift Farm. Some of the grape varieties are vinified separately, while others are typically fermented together in open containers. After a long wild, natural fermentation, they are aged in 225-liter barrels, mostly made of French oak.

Spicy summer fruit aromas lead to an appealing palate of ripe blackcurrants and blueberries with a hint of spice and sweet tannins. This wine is a rich, opulent red and possesses a smoothness that makes it very approachable. With well-integrated, ripe, and slightly creamy sweet tannins, this is a well-balanced wine with good length. After spending three months in mostly French oak barrels, it shows a touch of toasted oak.

The name of this wine is derived from a winter solstice celebration at Drift Farm, where the old Midsummer festival is celebrated by building a large bonfire and burning unwanted plant growth from the previous season.
