In 1962, the strength and art of 19 winegrowing families joined forces to found Cantine San Marzano. The wines come from a unique region in Puglia, a strip of land between the Ionian and Adriatic seas, where vines and olive trees thrive side by side on the typical red earth. The Mediterranean terroir plays a fundamental role in the production of these high-quality and modern wines. The climate is extreme, and the conditions are challenging. With the passion of the winegrowers at Cantine San Marzano, the grapes are transformed into full-bodied and elegant wines. These wines exemplify that good quality and an attractive price can coexist. The Talò and the SUD line showcase Southern Italian temperament and Mediterranean flair. Typical grape varieties such as Negroamaro, Primitivo, and Malvasia Nera enchant with notes ranging from black fruit to marmalade. Black cherries, plums, and damsons reflect the sunny region. Among the oldest vineyards in Salento, Cantine San Marzano has long sought suitable grapes that best express the essence of the noble Negroamaro grape variety. Three vineyards were selected and marked with the letter F, which stands for Feudi, or feudal estates, of San Marzano. From vines over sixty years old, the Primitivo di Manduria "Sessant'anni" tells the most beautiful story of this territory.
