In 1962, the strength and art of 19 winegrowing families joined forces to found Cantine San Marzano. The wines come from a unique region in Puglia, a strip of land between the Ionian and Adriatic seas, where lands and landscapes in the provinces of Taranto and Brindisi allow vines and olive trees to thrive side by side on the typical red earth. The Mediterranean terroir plays a fundamental role in the production of these high-quality and modern wines. The climate is extreme and the conditions are challenging. With the passion of the winegrowers at Cantine San Marzano, the grapes are transformed into full-bodied and elegant wines. These wines exemplify that good quality and an attractive price do not have to contradict each other. The Talò, as well as the SUD line, impresses with Southern Italian temperament and Mediterranean flair. Typical grape varieties such as Negroamaro, Primitivo, and Malvasia Nera enchant with black-fruity to marmalade notes. Black cherries, plums, and damsons reflect the sunny region. Offering a lot of wine for little money, these wines, with their powerful, pleasant, and gentle characters, are perfect for everyday enjoyment. Among the oldest vineyards in Salento, Cantine San Marzano has long sought suitable grapes that best express the soul of the noble Negroamaro grape variety. Three vineyards were selected and marked with the letter F, which stands for Feudi, or feudal estates, of San Marzano. Its counterpart, the "Sessant'anni," is a must for all fans of this style from southern Italy. From vines more than sixty years old, the Primitivo di Manduria "Sessant'anni" tells the most beautiful story of this territory. This outstanding wine was crowned "Best Absolute Italian Wine" (99 points) by Luca Maroni in 2019. A must-have for all Sessant'anni lovers, the LIMITED EDITION (winemaker's choice) presents itself in an elegant, high-quality design. The serigraphed lettering and the embossed bottle make the presentation unique.
