The most famous white wine from Valais is undoubtedly the Fendant. The Pierrafeu is a member of the Capsule Dorée line from Provins. The law requires a minimum Oechsle degree of 68°. Provins is a cooperative founded in 1930 due to the challenging times in viticulture at that time. The producers formed small groups to establish a company primarily focused on vinifying their products. Secondly, they began to develop a structure for marketing their products. Today, Provins is the leading producer of Swiss wines, representing approximately 23% of Valais production and 10% of Swiss production. More than 4,400 shareholders - grape suppliers trust the cooperative, bringing in about 10,000,000 kilos of grapes each year.
