With the aim of creating a novel style of champagne, Louise Pommery began the construction project of the century in Reims in July 1868. She transformed the historic Roman chalk tunnels located beneath the city into aging cellars for her champagne, laying the foundation for the unique Domaine Pommery. In 1874, she created the first Brut champagne in history. The exceptional Apanage 1874 celebrates the 150th anniversary of Madame Pommery's visionary invention.
