Since its founding by Frédéric Varone in 1900, the company Varone, based in Sion, has been actively involved in the qualitative development of the Valais wine-growing and wine industry. The Varone family has been enhancing the extraordinary heritage of the upper Rhône Valley for four generations. This heritage includes the ancient grape varieties Petite Arvine, Amigne, Humagne blanche, Marsanne blanche, Humagne rouge, and Cornalin, which wonderfully represent the numerous facets of the terroir of Sion on the terraces of the wine estates of Clavoz, Comba Bernard, Clos de Châteauneuf, and Uvrier.
