Fruit-forward and full-bodied, with smooth tannins that are rather soft yet not lacking in depth. Wonderful quality, achieved uncompromisingly despite the absence of added sulfur. Should be consumed within 1 to 1½ years.
Irjimpa
The wines of the Parra family have become some of the best-selling organic wines on the market, and rightly so. The recipe for success sounds simple, but it is hard-earned: great diligence, a consistent seriousness in daily, quality-oriented work, and harmonious wines with a clear hierarchy, all sharing an impressive quality level at reasonable prices. The old concrete tanks have been replaced by a modern cellar. New vineyards have been established, planting interesting grape varieties that are new to the La Mancha region. In addition to the 150 hectares of vineyards, the brothers also manage crops of grain, garlic, and black truffles. In 2012, they received certification according to Demeter guidelines. In a consciously power-free dome building, only grapes cultivated by human labor are fermented at natural temperatures in amphorae and wooden barrels to create truly special wines. All cellar equipment is operated by hand.
